![]() ![]() i think hannah's boyfriend before ryan gosling reacted in a way women would act, & i think if there's women cheering her on for her leaving him, it would def be a different story if it was a man instead, & i almost wished it was, ryan gosling would've been the perfect match, but then you wouldn't have seen his ladies man side, but there should've been a different character in that scene of emma stone that wasn't a wo-man bc it would've made me more happy, & made me feel empowered that all men aren't the same. i think it's good for movies like this to be raunchy, even while sending a good message & not being crude like an adam sandler movie, even though those too are special to my heart, there's just something special abt having a balance of raunchy & wholeheartedness, & while still maintaining true to who we really are, & maybe that's true for adam sandler movies too, but this movie def has more of a balance that i hope maybe adam can try one day, even though his creative work outlet is fine & dandy as is, esp his newer stuff like hustle or uncut gems. ryan gosling was alright in this movie, & i sure do love the guy, as that's right. the scene where cal is behind his son robbie when jessica reveals that the older man she was in love with was robbie's dad all along is where you know the screen writer put their time in this movie, even with hannah being call nanna, when you thought it was a grandma all along in the movie, when really it was cal's older daughter, just the creativity of coming up with that name & how she couldn't pronounce her "h's" in her name, & it's hysterical, while adding flavor of character, or characters bc you know that her family really loves her for keeping that name all throughout her life, it's the inside jokes that we have in our family house hold, that most do, even though it may not be something like nanna, it's something else. i think when people talk abt nuanced situations, they always look at the popular one where it's the dad getting mad bc his friend slept with his daughter, but people never talk abt what it was like to be the daughter & she's automatically victimized, so she's forced to believe that, & it seems like brainwashing to never live in a world of forgiveness, & i think being nuance is having a lot of blips, bc maybe those blips are the ones that should be following a trend, even if it doesn't make any sense, kinda like hogwash. robbie gets to wait for his own true love, even if it's not now, or guaranteed, & jessica finally gets to breathe after talking to robbie like a human being, & not wagging her finger & being mean. people probably didn't like the idea of jessica giving robbie those photos at the end of the movie, but i like it bc people are ready to scream at the top of their lungs & chant abuse, even if it's a woman, but it seemed like a gesture of love, & yes while something could be bad, it doesn't always necessarily mean that it HAS to look or feel bad, & that didn't look or feel bad for me, because both robbie & jessica won at the end of the day. jessica liking cal is the best story line in my opinion bc it's taboo in nature to talk abt, but the movie takes it to a funny direction of the dad getting mad, which i liked bc it's real, & it's also real that jessica's friends in school are sleeping around, like maddison, & jessica wanting to know how she does it. i think it's a movie that men & women can both like, & i'm in the lane of liking it, even though what i like is what women, & maybe very, very few men wouldn't like abt it. & though the movie calls out our behavior, it never says it's wrong, just that it could be improper, since you never know that the women you're womanizing are that of your friends or family. i didn't like some of the male hating scenes that were put in this movie, but i sorted it out in my brain & i think it was suppose to represent that this is how women think abt men, but isn't saying how we should think. it's nuanced, it's real, it knows it's cliché, & it knows how to stay in it's lane, but also while going a different direction that's good. this is the type of effort i want to see in a movie that show's in a big screen.
